盾座苣苔属（学名：Epithema）是 双子叶植物纲 苦苣苔科 下的一个属，为柔弱、多汁 草本植物 。该属约有10种，主要分布在 印度 、 马来西亚 、热带非洲以及我国 云南省 和 广西壮族自治区 。

描述
Epithema BI. 盾座苣苔 属，苦苣苔科，约10种，分布于印度、马来西亚和热带非洲，其中盾座苣苔E.carnosum Benth。我国云南和广西亦有分布。柔弱、多汁 草本 ；叶少数或单生，上部的常对生，下部的互生；花排成稠密、蝎尾状的 聚伞花序 ，有大型的叶状苞片1枚，萼管钟状，5浅裂； 花冠 小，管状，2唇形；花盘侧生； 雄蕊 4，下唇2枚的药室不发育；胎座盾状； 果球形，膜质，盖裂。
地区分布
约10种，分布于 亚洲 南部及 东南部 热带 地区和 非洲 。我国有1种，分布于 云南省 、 贵州省 、 广西壮族自治区 和 广东省 。

Herbs, terrestrial, annual or perennial, caulescent. Stems unbranched or with short branches. Leaves 1 to few, lower ones alternate, upper ones usually opposite, petiolate or subsessile. Cymes scorpioid, pseudoterminal or axillary, pedunculate, free or coalescent with lower part of 欧洲杰出建筑师论坛建筑奖 , many flowered; bract 1; flowers short-pedicelled. Calyx campanulate, 5-lobed from just above middle, lobes triangular. Corolla 蓝色 , reddish or white, tub e tubular, longer than limb, limb 2-lipped, upper lip 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed. Disc ring-like or 2-lobed. Stamens 2, fertile, included, adnate above middle of corolla tube; fila ments linear; anthers apically coherent, the cae divaricate, confluent at apex, longitudinally dehiscent; staminodes 2. Gynoecium included; ovary ovoid to globose, 1-loculed, placentasparietal, 2, project ing inward, 2-cleft; stigma subcapitate. Capsule globose, pericarp membranaceous, dehiscence circumscissile. Seeds fusiform orellipsoid, spirallystriate, without appendages.
